Maple Brownies

These decadent maple flavoured brownies will charm you for sure at the first bite! Sweet and soft, it changes from the original chocolate brownies.

Maple Brownies

Ingredients

Brownies:
• ½ cup (125 ml) of butter
• 6 squares of white chocolate (28 g each), cut in small pieces
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup (250 ml) of granulated maple sugar
• 1 ½ cup (375 ml) of flour
• ¼ teaspoon (1 ml) of salt
• 1 cup (250 ml) of sliced almonds

Icing:
• 4 squares of white chocolate (28 g each), cut in small pieces
• 4 tablespoons (60 ml ) of butter
• 1 cup (250 ml) of maple butter

Preparation

Brownies:
1. Melt butter over low heat.
2. Remove from heat and add the white chocolate.
3. Stir up until the mixture is smooth.
4. Mix eggs with granulated maple sugar to obtain a thick and consistent mixture.
5. Incorporate the chocolate mixture.
6. Add flour, salt and almonds.
7. Put in a 9 x 13 pan greased and covered with waxed paper.
8. Bake at 325 °F (160°C) for 30 to 35 minutes until golden.
9. Allow to cool.

Icing:
1. Melt butter over low heat.
2. Remove from heat and add the white chocolate.
3. Stir up until the mixture is smooth. This step can be done with the double-boiler.
4. Add the maple butter and stir well.
5. Spread over the brownies.
